Gratitude
CATEGORY: PERSONAL
LEVEL: FOUNDATIONS
Why:
Gratitude is a superpower, balancing our evolved tendency to focus on the negative. It generates happiness for both giver and receiver.
Warm-Up:
Who is one person or what is one thing you feel grateful for in your life, and why?
Exploration:
Gratitude is strangely powerful. Just the act of noticing what you’re thankful for and expressing it to someone makes you and them happier. Even small acts of gratitude can change your mindset to see the world more positively, to feel less depressed, and to have better relationships. Gratitude is a whole way of seeing life. It doesn’t mean you ignore the bad stuff, just that you balance that out with a clear view of the good stuff too. Could you write a gratitude note to someone in your life, to give them (and yourself) the gift of gratitude?
