Why:

Our curiosity about each other is a natural and powerful force, and with a little structure it can bring the group closer.

Warm-Up:

What questions would you be really curious to ask your peers about? (Consider collecting ideas anonymously.)

Exploration:

A game called Hot Seat is a fun way to get to know each other better and to ask the questions we really want to ask. First, invite volunteers willing to go in the “Hot Seat”. Once a volunteer is chosen, they choose their “spice” level, which means how personal of a question they're willing to answer. Then we can use the questions we generated, or others that come to mind, and ask them to respond. They always have the right to refuse if the question feels “spicier” than they’d like. The goal is to give each other permission to ask deeper questions.
